Alan Hunte has over 32 years of experience in the financial services industry. He started his career with a Big 4 accounting firm which provided the foundation for his accounting and financial skills gained over a broad segment of industries. These included manufacturing, banking, insurance and a plethora of small to medium sized businesses. He then moved to the Insurance industry where he progressed to the position of Chief Financial Officer.
Over the following 23 years Alan expanded his operational knowledge and experience as the company grew from a $25 million private company to an international company with over $1 billion in total capitalization. It was during this period that he gained the majority of his practical experience - establishing and developing financial structures and organizations to support the company over its growth period. His responsibilities also included claims handling and IT. As CFO he was the principal finance officer involved in the company's capital raising initiatives, including its IPO. He dealt extensively with the company's investment bankers, investment analysts, investors and the company's Board of Directors. Alan also played a significant role in the company's M&A activities. The company operated in the highly regulated insurance industry. He was the company's principal relationship officer with the regulators, fostering a very positive relationship with the key domicile states and was highly respected by the regulators.
Following his career as CFO, Alan's depth of experience proved to be a valuable asset in his next several roles. He was sought out as a problem solver. Over a period of 5 years, he was responsible for fixing the U.S. regulatory operation of a major Insurance enterprise, significantly improving its efficiency and staff morale. This was achieved by aligning organizational changes with people skills and processes combined with better use of available technology. Most importantly he understood the regulatory environment and improved the company's relationship with its regulators. Alan was then asked to take over a large financial transformation project which was in jeopardy of failing. Through his organizational and management skills he was able to bring the project to a successful conclusion. While these were very challenging projects, his proven skills and experience enabled him to accomplish the goals and objectives.
Alan's most recent roles required the broadest understanding of a company's operations. Data Management projects require the knowledge and understanding of the life cycle of data and processes used to move data from "source to post". He implemented two data governance organizations and processes for managing data quality using Best Practice supported by leading consulting firms.
